"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I had to take a cigarette." He stared up at the sky with a frown and pulled his collar up about his neck. The rain ran down the brim of his hat, splattering on his shoulders. "But it's a miserable day."
"I guess," I said . I had the small canvas bag of money under my loose shirt. " Going back to the Company?"
"Why not?" Black Dog shrugged. He fell into step beside me and we walked up the hill in silence. Black Dog folded his arms across his chest, almost hugging himself. "Don't you...don't you hate it here?"
"I don't like it, if that's what you mean, but White Deer says that 'hate' is so strong a word that I ought to use it on;y for evil."
"But there's another wy to forget evil," Black Dog said. We stopped for a moment in a doorway when the rain fell harder.
"Did you ever hear about how we got opium?" he asked finally.
"The British demons forced us to let them sell it in the Middle Kingdom,"I said.
"Ah, that's what some people say who want to hide the truth, cause they don't want to give the poor man his due. He was a poor working man like you or me who, no matter how hard he worked, always wound up owing more and more to the bosses. The only thing he owned outright was his ugly life, maybe the ugliset woman alive. She was so repulsive that he beat her in the morning when he got up and beat her in the evening when he came home. The wife never complained , because she loved him dearly. But finally when she saw how much he hated her, she gell ill because she was so sad.
"On her deathbed, she called her husband to her and told him that after her death he would realize how much she loved him despite everything he had done to her. At once the poor farmer felt sorry for what he had done, but before he could tell her, she died. Tne days later, the poor farmer noticed a strange blue flower growing from her grave. There was a little round fruit inside the flower. At first the poor farmer was afraid that his wife had turned in to soem poisonous flower. He could not sleep at night, thinking about the flower and what he had done to his wife. He could not work during the day, remembering the blows he had given her. ' SHe has every right to hurt me,' the poor farmer said, 'for I have been a mean, spiteful man.'
"With that, he fell sick himself . But he had no money to pay the doctors, nor any offspring to care for him. And then one night during a feverish dream, he saw his wife. She told him that the flower on her grave had been woven from the strands of her soul. The strange fruit in the flower could heal him. He was to cut the fruit and harden the juice that would come out and smoke it. If he smoked it every day, he would become healthy. The very next morning he got up and did vas his wife had told him, and no sooner did he take his first puff than he felt his illness leave him. So it was that he and his wife were closer in death than they were in life"
Black Dog smiled naughtily. "So it is to those two lovers that I smoke, for the name of the ugly wife was Life and the name of the farmer was Everyman. The only good thing I ever got out of my ugly life was the flower.
I understand some part of his story. "But life isn't all ugly," I said.
"Don't you think it's ugly here?" What kind of lives do we lead wothout wives and families?"
"There's no money back at home."
"But why sacrifice yourself just so others can get gat at home> All they ever understand is that they need mire money,"
"Things will be better in the next life. Maybe we'll be born as the sons of noble families. May be we'll even finally find release from this world."
Black Dog looked at me intently. " Why shouldn't we get some pleasure in this life? Why later? Why not now?"
"Because we don't owe things just to ourselves. There are others."
He grabbed me by the arm and his voice grew wild. He slapped on my face. " Don't give me your simpering , mealymouthed answers. We've repaid our debts a dozen times over."
"You're hurting me," I said. All the time, in my mind, I was telling myself that I must not be frightened. I must not be frightened.
"You don't know what pain is," Black Dog said.
"I know! You bit me! It's painful. I am not a silly kid!"
"You shut up! Wait till you have been here for longer time. Then you'll know." Black Dog twisted my arm and kick my stomach. I kick his right leg and run away. I heard his boots come closer as he followed me. Suddenly I felt a pain in the back of my hand. He had grabbed my queue. I stopped short as he jerked at the queue, and fell on my back.He tore the money bag away from me, but he did not even look at it. "Pain?" he said strangely. " Pain?" You don't know what it is." And he began to kick me with his heavy boots...

English Homework
The society discussed about small class teaching for a long time. There are both advantages and disadvantages. Hong Kong educational government think that small class teaching can reduce the problem of lack of Form 1 students in the future. Small class teaching might reduce this problem. Today, I would like to focus on the effect to students when there is small class teaching. As students are the one who affect most by this program.
Having small class teaching can increase the communication between teachers and students. Teachers can easily follow the results of students. Teachers can teach more detail about the things that students don't understand. This can increase the quality of learning. This is really an advantage for students as learning is really important now for all the students.
There are about 36-40 students in big class. That means students can have over 35 friends in a class. When small class teaching occurs in school, students will have less friends then before. In the society, cooperation between each others is as important as having professional skills. Students should train to be cooperative. When they are having small class teaching, surely they have less chance to cooperate with a lot of people.
Small class teaching might be good for students but if there are not enough facilities to help. I think the benefits won't occurs.
I strongly disagree with the government using small class teaching to reduce the problem of less Form 1 students entering secondary school. This is a silly way. Small class teaching can help students but when the government try to use on this position, sure it's worst for students.

History Assignment
For those five qualities, Imaginative, Creative, Sensitive to society's needs, Breaking from the past, the old ways, Prescient/Foresight. I think Methodist College only foster on creativity. We have art lesson and music lesson. We need to write composition in both Chinese and English lesson. We need to be creative so we can finish our tasks. For other qualities, imaginative, sensitive to society's needs, breaking from the past and prescient. I don't think the school really promote too much. Maybe Methodist College is a traditional school so teachers won't encourage us too much on these qualities. I don't think our school has any special inventor at all. It might cause by the traditional thinking of the teachers.

History Assignment
1. Which revolution does Hong Kong need?
I don't think Hong Kong need any revolution at all. People in American Revolution were discontent with the Britain ruled them with absolute power. In China, we still have some freedom. If Hong Kong people fight for free with China or independence by ourselves. I don't think we can handle our society better. We don't have enough of resources. People in French revolution were discontent with Louis XVI because he was corrupt. This won't happen in Hong Kong because we have an ICAC to take care of this stuffs. We don't need Industrial Revolution because science and technology developed well in nowadays. Also Hong Kong is a small place, we don't have enough place to build up factories. We don't have enough raw materials. Hong Kong is better to develop trading than industry. Mao instigates the teenagers to do silly things. This won't happen in nowadays because teenagers have their own ideas. It's not as easy as that time because teenagers are educated. They have their own mind. It's difficult to instigate teenagers to do something. These are the reason why I don't think Hong Kong need revolution.
2. What are five basic qualities that a good inventor might have?
A good inventor might have at least 5 good qualities:
-Curious in everything
-with good observation
-brave to try their invention
-be calm to face stress and problem
-Be patient while doing research

The response for VOA
Everyone in the society work hard for money. Your father, mother, friends and all of the people who work hard may get paid. Should students get paid to go to school? Should students get paid to work hard?
Many teachers might think punishments are more useful to push students to do things. Money is a reward for students so not all the teachers agree that. I think punishment and rewarding are both important for students but I don't think that money is a suitable thing for rewarding students. Rewarding can be other things instead of money such as candies, books or stationery.
School is a place for students to learn how to be a mature person to face the problem we may face in the future. If schools give money to students as rewarding, there's the same as teaching students that money is the most important thing in the world. The truth is money isn't the most important. I don't think teachers want to inculcate this ideas to students.
Some people think if students is self-control, that's not a problem to paid them. I agree with this idea. For the students who can really control themselves, this is surely not a problem. However, can you make sure that every students can control themselves?
Some people think paying money to students can increase their interest in learning. They hope paying students can push them to have good results. I disagree with this idea. For example, a student who already give all her effort to do something but she can't get good results. Is money really useful at that moment? For the students who don't have potential in learning, do money help them to increase the interest of learning?
Rewarding is some how useful for students because it can encourage to do better. I don't disagree teachers giving reward to students. The main thing is reward can be many thing. Either treats, stationary or even a merit point. Money is not the only reward for students. To ensure students develop good values, I think students shouldn't be paid for schools.

About Number the Stars
The main characters in this story were Annemarie, Ellen and Kirsti. I think Annemarie were a selfish person because she won't care about other's feeling. She wanted to win in the athlete meets so she wanted Ellen to practice with her but actually Ellen was not really good at running. I thought Annemarie was a good sister because when her sister asked for a fairy tale before she slept so she immediately told her one. She was some how like a lier. She didn't want others to know bad things so she tried to keep her mouth shut but she couldn't shut her sister's mouth.
I thought Kirsti was a childish girl. Her brain was full of fairy tales and king and queen and princess. She obeyed her sister a lot as I saw that when Annemarie, her sister talked with her friends, she won't disturb her. She was brave too. She shouted at the German soldier. She was also a honest person because she told her mother about the things happened on the street but actually Annemarie wanted to hid this thing up.
Another thing I discovered in this story was having a sister or a brother was very important. Winter was really cold. If you stayed by yourself in the bed, and you didn't have heater. Your feeling wasn't good at all that night. If you have a sister or brother, you could sleep with them. This might be warmer than sleeping only by yourself.

Experience of visitng Ocean Park
This is the third time I went to Ocean Park but this is the first time I went with my classmates. This time I saw the bamboo eaters--the giant panda. Unfortunately they were sleeping. We went to a classroom and watch a film about the habitat, reproduction and some other information about the giant panda. In the afternoon, we went to another classroom. We listened to a talk about dolphin. We saw a dolphin skeleton which I thought is the most interesting. I couldn't believe that a 1 1/2 year-old dolphin was already 183cm long! That's taller than myself!
The thing I need to improve for next time was time management. As we had some free time this time, we could walk around and see different things. Ocean Park was really big, the time we predict to walk back to the place we gather was not enough. We was almost late for gathering. So next time we need to have better time management and plan where we go before we start.

Reflection of interview
The topic of my group is Aging Population. We interviewed the people who lived in Yau Ma Tei. First we interviewed the manager of Mc Donalds. As they were working, they were busy. There answer were short. I went to a model shop in Yau Ma Tei with my father before the day I went for interview. I asked for the permission of interviewing who work in the model shop because that person was my father's friend. He worked in Yau Ma Tei for 40 years. He gave us complete answers. Also he gave us the background information of Yau Ma Tei such as the facilities of Yau Ma Tei 40 years ago. He gave us a lot of information. At last, we went to Yue Wah Chinese Product. We would like to ask the sales for information. The sales said there need to work so they refused us. At last, we walked through each levels and observe the people who went to the shop. From the whole process, we got most of our information in the model shop. We got less in Mc Donald's and Yue Wah Chinese Product. For next time, when we need to do interview again, we must ask for their permission first. And then ask for the time they are free. So we won't disturb their business.

Chinese New Year History Assignment
Hello! My name is Speranza. I was an Italian. I borned and lived in Rome, Italy. I was borned at 28th June, 1389 and died at 1st April,1454. I had one brother. He was 3 years older than me. He was a sucessful scientist and he discovered new element when he was 18. My father and mother hoped me learnt more on science but I prefered music.
My mother didn't let me learnt music instrument when I was young. I had a friend called Gianna. She learnt piano and violin. I always went to her home and learnt these two instruments. Of course I didn't tell my mother. I knew I was interested in music mre than science. I praitced everyday in Gianna's home. When I was 10, I started to compose short songs for about 24 bars for piano and violin. When I was 14, I composed a duet song for piano and performed it with Gianna at the hall of Rome.
I got a chance to perform there because one day a person pass through Gianna's house. I was praticing the song with Gianna. That person appreciated us and invited us to perform our song in a concert in the hall of Rome. On that concert, many young musician performed their new songs. I learnt a lot through that concert especially the skills of composing slow song. And the person invited me to the concert was the chairperson of the Youth Music Society of Italy. His name was Enrico. After the concert, I became one of the member of the society. My family didn't want me to have development on music, Enrico talked with my mother. At last, my family supported me for the development of music.
My friendship with Gianna was very long as we were friends since 6. Unfortunately, she was dead when she was 20 by cancer. I lost my best friend. Luckily I met Raimondo. He was also a composer and he was 2 years older than me. He was good at flute and cello. We became friends because we had the same hobby. Raimondo became my boyfriend when I was 21. I was happily married when I was 24 and gave birth to my daughter, Isabella. Then I kept on writing new songs. I taught my daughter piano and violin and Raimondo taught her flute and cello. I wrote two sonatas for pianoand about ten hymns during 1413-1423. During 1425-1427, I composed a song with Raimondo for piano violin and cello. I performed this song in the hall with Raimondo and Isabella. We were very sucessful.
Isabella was talented in drawing more than music. When she was 18, she decided to be an artist instead of a musician. Ramimondo and I supported her and she drew great painting about nature. Raimondo and I kept on composing music. We wrote 4 concerto, 5 sonatas, 9 hymns more during 1431-1451. My health became worst when I was 62. I cough a lot. Later on, I couldn't listen and see well. When I was 64, I wasn't able to walk anymore. I was able to lie on the bed only. I discovered that I got the lung cancer. And I was dead on 1st April, 1454.
I dead when I was quite young. I couldn't saw my grand-daughter. Nevermind, I knew they could live very well. I was happy to compose music. I was happy to meet Raimondo and Gianna. I hoped my music could keep for a long time by the people in Italy forever and let everyone try to appreciate the "beauty" of music.

History Homework
In the middle ages, people were divided into different levels. They had diferent power.
The Peasant needed to work for the whole year. And the barons, knights could have more recreational activities. In the Renaissace Time, people had more freedom. They could be painters, poer, music composer...These are jobs related to arts and music. People had their freedom to express what they thought.

History Homework
The distribution of power in Hong Kong is simalar to the Middle Ages. The main thing which is different is there are two "kings". The president of China and the CEO of Hong Kong SAR. The head of each government department and agencies are the "knights". For anothers they are all the king. There are also "barons" in Hong Kong. Those rich people who built up charity are the "barons". I think distributing the power in this way isn't good because there are two "kings". As what we know the president of China gives so much instruction to the CEO of Hong Kong SAR. For example, people in Hong Kong hope that they can vote for their own CEO in 2012. What"s the results? The Chinese government say we can vote at 2017. Voting from the citizen of Hong Kong is always dicussing in the Hong Kong society since 1997. From 1997-2017, it's already 20years time. I think it is quite bad to have preparation for voting for a CEO for 20years. As this example, we can see that the power actually is holding on the president's hand. Not hte CEO of Hong Kong. We still call the CEO of Hong Kong the topest person in our society. Honestly, the Chinese government is the real person who control Hong Kong.
If I am Moon Shadow
Luckily, my father and my mother stay with me since I was small. I didn't have such an experience similar to Moon Shadow. I think I would still go to the Gold Mountain because I know my father is there. I feel regret if I can't see my father. And I think I need to work for my family because we are poor. I shouldn't say "no" because man is responsible for their family. Although I need to live my dearest mother, my own place, I would go there without saying "no"

S: For now, people here go to Hunghom can travel by bus 212 or 30x, but these buses are usually crowded and it takes time to wait.
K: People need 30 mins to travel from Yau Ma Tei to Hunghom. When the railway is finished. The time will be shorten. This may help the people who lived in Yau Ma Tei.
S: After walking around this garden. Although there are not many facilities here, the facilities are still suitable for the resident. I hope they will build a club house.
K: When I walk around here, there are many trees. Outside is quite hot now but it's cool inside. Also, the people are friendly. When they see their neighbourly, they will say ‘Good morning’ or ‘How are you?’ I like the environment here.
S: That's the end for our video. We would like to thank Hilda for the information and our cameraman Stephanie.
K: See you next time!
SK: Bye!
